JOB This class oversees and coordinates workplace safety, accident prevention, and employee health programs for Public Works & Utilities.

The incumbent may:

provide department professional journey-level work in ensuring employees follow Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) standards as well as, regulations for handling hazardous waste materials; provide organization of general liability issues and act as a liaison for workman's compensation claims; and conduct safety trainings and education on various occupational safety and health topics.
