Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to oversee and enhance workplace safety protocols within our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety awareness. This role is vital in minimizing risks, preventing accidents, and promoting occupational health across all departments. The Safety Coordinator will also lead training initiatives and conduct thorough investigations to identify root causes of safety incidents. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with occupational health standards. Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and prepare detailed report writing to document findings and corrective actions. Coordinate workers' compensation law adherence and manage related documentation to ensure proper processing of claims. Provide first aid training, CPR certification, and other safety training sessions to employees to promote a safe work environment. Monitor environmental health and safety (EHS) practices, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards, DNR regulations and EPA regulations. Collaborate with management on training & development initiatives focused on safety best practices and continuous improvement. Keep abreast of updates in occupational health laws, workers' compensation law, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance. Serve as the point of contact for safety-related inquiries and support the implementation of new safety procedures or equipment. Skills Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, workers' compensation law, and occupational health principles. Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable. Experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on EHS protocols. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to document investigations clearly and accurately. Proven ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to identify underlying issues contributing to safety incidents. Effective training & development skills to educate staff on safety procedures and compliance requirements. Strong communication skills to liaise with management, employees, and regulatory agencies professionally. Ability to analyze complex situations quickly and implement appropriate corrective actions promptly. Due to the nature of our business, U.S. Citizenship is required. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology or Safety Professional Certification plus two years of higher education or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements. Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment is preferred. Minimum of two years' practical experience in safety position, preferably in an industrial setting.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
