This position is ideal for dependable security professionals seeking flexible, as-needed assignments. Officers may be deployed for short-term coverage, emergency assignments, special events, high-risk locations, or other operational needs. As an armed security officer, you will provide a visible security presence, identify potential threats, respond appropriately to incidents, and protect people and property while following all applicable laws, post orders, and company policies. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a professional and highly visible armed security presence Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols of assigned premises Identify and report security risks, suspicious behavior, and safety hazards Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment Control access by verifying identification and authorizing entry Protect employees, visitors, clients, and property Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, threats, or emergencies Use de-escalation and sound judgment when addressing conflicts Contact and coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, or emergency medical personnel when necessary Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs Follow site-specific post orders and client instructions Safely carry, secure, and maintain an approved duty firearm and related equipment Use force only when legally justified and in accordance with company policy and applicable law Required Licenses and Qualifications Valid California BSIS Guard Card Valid California BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit Must be legally authorized to possess and carry a firearm while on duty Must have the firearm caliber listed and approved on the BSIS firearm permit Must maintain all required firearm qualifications and permit renewals Strong communication, observation, and report-writing skills Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies Professional appearance and conduct Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to different client locations Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and short-notice assignments Must successfully complete all required background checks and company onboarding requirements Preferred Qualifications Previous armed security, military, corrections, or law enforcement experience Experience with access control, CCTV monitoring, patrol operations, or loss prevention Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification Familiarity with California laws governing armed security officers and the lawful use of force Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills Why Join Oncall Security Services?
