DESCRIPTION:
Ensure the campus and building is safe and orderly by patrolling the building and grounds, monitoring student behavior, diffusing hostile situations, assisting administration and staff, enforcing school rules, and providing for the overall security of students.
SALARY:
Classified Grade N, $23.20 per hour to start, depending on recent relevant experience. 4 day work week, Tuesday - Friday. 10 hours per day (40 hrs a week) on the 9-month work schedule. Position is paid over 12-months and is eligible for benefits. Innovations & Options is located in Brighton, CO. We are a small but mighty alternative school with around 200 students and 25 staff members. We operate on a 4-day work week (Tue-Fri). Most all agree�Mondays off are quite fabulous! Has a natural ability to build positive developmental relationships with students using both care and accountability and enforce school expectations and behavior.
Is ready to get plenty of steps in every day patrolling hallways and supervising the campus!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Constant patrol of hallways, bathrooms, and other areas of the campus to monitor student behavior and help keep students in class.
Supervision of in school suspension room.
Monitor campus to provide security and regulate unauthorized persons from being on campus.
Mediate student conflicts, assist administration with investigating incidents, communicating observed student behaviors, and managing the In School Suspension room.
Monitor and intervene with students in order to eliminate truancy and to prevent physical altercations, disagreements, and drug and alcohol use on campus.
Monitor and utilize building security camera system.
Supervise occasional evening events, such as school events and graduation. Assist with event set up if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.
Experience in law enforcement or security, helpful, but not required.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Links to
