Job Description
We are hiring dependable, professional, and motivated Armed Security Officers to provide security and protection for school campuses in Skokie, IL .
Compensation:
1099 - Independent Contractor $23/hour while working unarmed, pending state activation of FCC credentials and successful completion of the required in-house Scenario-Based Training (SBT). $25/hour once FCC credentials are active, SBT is completed, and you begin working armed. Armed Security Officer duties are as follows, duties include but are not limited to:
Observe:
Maintain awareness and identify inconsistencies.
Report:
Document incidents, critical situations, and daily activity.
Deter:
Maintain a professional presence to prevent security issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualified applicants for the position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below: 1st & 2nd shifts available; weekend availability required Active PERC, FOID, and Original Firearms Training #230 (Semi-Auto) Current semi-auto requalification (within the past year) Previous Firearm Control Card (FCC) Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle Age 21+ High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of armed security experience Must provide all required armed security equipment Must successfully complete Scenario-Based Training (SBT) (2-day course; $275 fee, payroll deductions available) Must pass a background check and post-offer drug/alcohol screening
Essential Physical and Mental Functions:
Stand and walk for extended periods on various surfaces Occasionally climb, bend, twist, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and run when necessary Use hands, vision, hearing, and communication skills continuously to observe, report, and interact with the public Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Maintain strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism Complete clear written reports and follow operating procedures; basic computer skills may be required Handle high-volume public interactions effectively We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
