Job Summary Security Officers are responsible for protecting construction personnel, equipment, facilities, and project assets while enforcing site access procedures and maintaining a visible security presence. Officers will work closely with project management and local emergency responders to ensure a safe and secure work environment. Responsibilities Control access to construction sites and verify authorized personnel. Conduct vehicle and pedestrian access screening. Patrol assigned work areas, staging yards, and project facilities. Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems. Prepare accurate daily activity and incident reports. Respond to emergencies, alarms, and suspicious activity. Enforce client policies and site safety procedures. Communicate professionally with project personnel, contractors, and visitors. Report safety hazards, security concerns, and unusual incidents immediately. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Valid Maryland Security Guard Certification (or ability to obtain before employment). Reliable transportation. Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. Ability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Preferred Previous security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or public safety experience. Experience working on construction, transportation, utility, or infrastructure projects. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. Experience working in high-security or safety-sensitive environments.
