Job Summary:

The Director of Security performs administrative duties and is responsible for total operations of 24-hour departmental services and staff, including kitchen and maintenance. Provides leadership in support of the policies and procedures, develops security programs, monitors/provides education and training for security staff, verifies security needs and security levels to departments and expands/reduces services to match facility needs. Security services may include, overseeing security camera system, investigation of reports of drug and alcohol use among staff and clients. Training of security officers in room searches, pat searches, urinalyses collection, and interior and perimeter welfare checks. Ensure that all shifts are scheduled and covered, complete performance evaluations on officers, and hiring for available security positions. Oversee all aspects of the security department. Acts as the liaison with law enforcement agencies, and as such, is the point of contact when related situations occur. This position also includes supervision of the facility kitchen and maintenance departments.

Work Experience Preferred:

5 years Security related experience, inclusive of 2 years in a management or supervisory role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Requires strong communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills. Knowledge and skill of computer databases and applications required. Must be self-motivated and able to function independently. Working knowledge of technology relating to security systems.
