The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and respectful environment for residents, staff, and visitors within the nursing home. Job Details Key Responsibilities Monitor facility access points, visitor logs, and surveillance systems. Responsible for weekly/monthly inspection of specified equipment. Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas to ensure resident safety. Respond promptly and professionally to incidents such as disturbances, medical emergencies, or elopement risks. Coordinate with nursing staff, administration, and emergency responders as needed. Enforce facility policies while maintaining a calm, respectful, and compassionate approach. Prepare incident reports, daily logs, and shift summaries. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, facility regulations, and safety protocols. Identify potential security risks and recommend corrective actions. Qualifications Current New York State Security License. High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of security experience preferred. Experience in healthcare, nursing home, or residential facility security strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of emergency response, de-escalation techniques, and access control. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations. Basic computer skills for report writing and incident documentation. Posted Salary Range USD $29.40 - USD $29.40 /Hr. The pay for this position is $29.40 per hour. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
