Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Supervise all gambling operations governed by the Gaming Ordinance and adopt such rules and regulations deemed necessary to carry out the provisions of the Gaming Ordinance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
License all employees, agents or contractors requiring a gaming license related to the Tribe's gaming enterprise, monitor compliance with the Gaming Ordinance and take appropriate action when non-compliance or fraudulent practice occurs. Adopt standards under which all gambling operations shall be held, including internal controls, regulation of the prize and wagering structure, determine payouts from the gambling and payout rate of the slot machines. Inspect and examine all premises wherein gaming is conducted or gambling devices and equipment are manufactured, sold or distributed and any equipment and supplies which may or have been used in the gaming establishment, wherever located. Seize, remove and impound equipment, supplies or other property for examination; or seize and impound a patron's winnings when there is reason to believe that the Gaming Ordinance has been violated pending civil forfeiture hearings or criminal proceedings. Access, inspect, examine, copy and audit all papers, books and records of applicants and licensees respecting any revenue or income produced by any gaming business. Investigate alleged violations of the Gaming Ordinance, Commission rules and regulations, the Compact and any other applicable laws and take appropriate disciplinary action or institute appropriate legal action for enforcement of both. Provide for adequate, continuous security and videotaping of all gambling activities conducted at the Tribe's gaming enterprise under guidelines set by the Commission. Issue subpoenas for witnesses and subpoenas duces tecum for the production of books, records and other pertinent documents and administer oaths and affirmations to the witnesses when it is necessary to enforce the Gaming Ordinance or the rules and regulations of the Commission. Approve non-management contracts. Report periodically to the Tribal Council as outlined in the Gaming Ordinance. Take any other action as may be reasonable and appropriate to enforce the Gaming Ordinance and the rules and regulations of the Commission.
REQUIREMENTS
Enrolled member of the Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa. Applicants must provide a current photograph and two (2) sets of fingerprints on forms commonly used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and shall be submitted with a sworn statement within the first two weeks following appointment as a Gaming Commissioner. The sworn statement should include a waiver of any right of confidentiality and shall allow access to law enforcement records of the United States, any state and any tribe, extend to any financial or personnel record wherever maintained and authorize the Commission to obtain information from other state and tribal gaming jurisdictions regarding license or permit applications or disciplinary actions or conduct of the appointee in those jurisdictions. Applicants must complete and submit to a background packet within the first two weeks following appointment as a Gaming Commissioner.
NOTE:
Appointments will be temporary pending the completion of a background investigation and verification that the appointee is eligible to serve on the Commission according to the requirements set forth in the Gaming Ordinance.
SUPERVISION
Direct supervision by the Chair of the Gaming Commission.
