JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform aircraft structural repairs, modifications, drilling, and riveting operations. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, and other required tools. Remove fasteners without damaging aircraft structures. Read and interpret engineering orders, drawings, repair manuals, and technical documents to determine proper repair procedures, rivet sizes, hole patterns, and sequence of operations. Align and assemble parts using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Perform close-tolerance structural work and ensure parts and assemblies meet requirements. Inspect completed work and ensure assemblies are defect-free prior to final inspection. Complete and maintain all required work cards and documentation. Perform weight and balance of flight controls. Work with composite resins and materials when required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety regulations and procedures. Work with minimal supervision while meeting quality and production requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a sheet metal/structures apprenticeship program or relevant aircraft structures experience . Experience with aircraft sheet metal fabrication and structural repairs. Ability to read and understand repair manuals, blueprints, engineering orders, and technical drawings. Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and tools. Ability to accurately measure, drill, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal. Skilled in riveting and fastener removal. Knowledge of close-tolerance work and special tools/equipment. Ability to perform basic shop mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and whole numbers. Ability to read a scale and solve basic dimensional problems. Basic computer skills. Ability to read and write English. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Professional attitude and ability to work effectively with others. Ability to work independently and meet demanding schedules. Demonstrated commitment to good housekeeping and safety practices.
