Updated 07/2026 Job Description Job Summary Position Description The University of Mount Olive Flight School has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic. Responsibilities include: Perform daily, pre-flight, and special inspections for damage, corrosion, or wear. Includes aircraft cleaning, waxing and care of paint and Interior Demonstrate strong technical expertise in aircraft systems and safety compliance Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and flight data. Repair or replace faulty parts in engines, landing gear, hydraulics, brakes, and control systems Service engines, hydraulic systems, deicers, and other components Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, inspections, and repairs Adhere strictly to FAA and manufacturer safety guidelines Ability to work with the Federal Aviation Administration to keep the FAA Part 141 in compliance Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor as required to meet the needs and growth of the position
Fleet:
C-172 PA-28 PA-34 Other GA aircraft as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:
Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required; high school diploma or equivalent, Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance preferred.
