Fire Suppression Technician Full-Time | Minimum of 40 Hours Per Week | Monday-Friday with Possible Travel High School Diploma or Equivalent Required No Experience Required | Willing to Train Employer will Conduct Background Check, Drug Screen, and Motor Vehicle Records Check Position Summary We are seeking a dependable Fire Suppression Technician to install, inspect, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems in commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and code-compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Installation:
Install fire suppression piping, control valves, nozzles, release mechanisms, and related equipment according to blueprints, specifications, and applicable codes.
Inspection & Testing:
Perform routine inspections, diagnostic checks, and pressure testing on water, foam, gas, and other fire suppression systems.
Maintenance & Repair:
Troubleshoot system issues, repair leaks, replace damaged or defective components, and clear blocked lines.
System Documentation:
Accurately document inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, and completed work.
Code Compliance:
Ensure fire suppression equipment and installations comply with applicable local, state, and national fire and safety codes.
Troubleshooting:
Read schematics and blueprints, identify system problems, and use appropriate diagnostic tools to determine necessary repairs.
Safety:
Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices while working in commercial and industrial environments.
Customer Service:
Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, inspectors, and other trades regarding system conditions and required work. Qualifications & Skills Mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to use hand, power, and diagnostic tools. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Knowledge of fire suppression systems, piping, valves, nozzles, and release mechanisms preferred. Ability to perform inspections, pressure tests, troubleshooting, and repairs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with installation and service work. Certifications NICET certification is preferred or may be required depending on the position and jurisdiction. Additional OSHA, manufacturer, or industry certifications are a plus. Work Environment This position may involve work at commercial and industrial facilities, construction sites, mechanical rooms, and other locations containing fire protection equipment. Technicians may be required to lift equipment, use ladders, work in confined areas, and follow strict job-site safety procedures.
