Level II Fire Alarm Technician You know how to do more than pull wire and install devices. You can read the prints, troubleshoot the system, handle panel terminations, track down ground faults, and make sure the system operates the way it should. TradeSTAR is recruiting Level II Fire Alarm Technicians for a client serving the Dallas-Fort Worth commercial market. If you have solid commercial fire alarm experience and a Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL), this is an opportunity to put those skills to work while continuing to grow in the life safety trade. About the Opportunity Our client is an established life safety contractor supporting commercial fire alarm projects throughout DFW. You'll work alongside experienced life safety professionals on systems where quality installation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation matter. This is a strong opportunity for a technician who's ready for more responsibility in the field and wants to continue building toward Senior Technician, Lead Technician, and other advanced life safety positions. What You'll Do As a Level II Fire Alarm Technician, you'll take an active role throughout commercial fire alarm installation, testing, and troubleshooting.

Your work may include:

Install fire alarm cable, support structures, devices, and related equipment Install and terminate horn/strobes, pull stations, smoke detectors, duct detectors, and other system components Perform device and some panel terminations Read blueprints and determine cable pathways and device locations Test fire alarm circuits, devices, and system operation Troubleshoot ground faults and other system problems Use VOM/multimeters and other testing equipment Work with D.C. circuits, resistance, voltage drop, and basic Ohm's Law calculations Help determine proper wire sizing and overcurrent protection Maintain circuit integrity and proper system wiring Apply working knowledge of NFPA 72 requirements Verify proper placement and operation of initiating devices, notification appliances, control panels, annunciators, and related components Complete daily progress reports, material lists, and test results Assist with system testing and certification Potentially provide direction to small crews of technicians and installers The systems you install and test have a real purpose: protecting people and property. Your workmanship matters. What We're Looking For Commercial fire alarm installation experience Experience terminating fire alarm devices and equipment Experience with duct detectors Some fire alarm panel termination experience Strong testing and troubleshooting ability Ability to diagnose ground faults Working knowledge of NFPA 72 Ability to read blueprints, risers, and system drawings Experience using VOM/multimeters and fire alarm testing equipment Understanding of fire alarm circuits and system components Ability to work with minimal supervision Strong communication and documentation skills Reliable transportation Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) preferred Experience leading or providing direction to a small crew is a plus.
