Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all collision repair activities, including auto body repairs, auto painting, auto glass replacement, and detailing. Utilize technical proficiency to diagnose vehicle damage, perform defect root cause analysis, and develop effective repair strategies. Manage workflow by assigning tasks to technicians based on skill level, workload, and project deadlines. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment. Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, metal fabrication equipment, and paint systems to ensure quality workmanship. Communicate clearly with clients regarding repair estimates, progress updates, and completion timelines using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software. Maintain a thorough understanding of collision repair shop processes involving aluminum repairs, automotive restoration, and advanced auto body refinishing techniques. Monitor inventory levels for paints, auto parts, auto glass, and other supplies necessary for daily operations. Promote continuous improvement by training team members on new techniques, safety procedures, and technical advancements in automotive repair. Experience Proven experience working in collision repair shops or auto body shops with a strong background in collision repair processes. Dealership experience or similar automotive service environment highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication equipment. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including auto restoration and auto painting techniques. Skilled in automotive damage estimation using computer-aided tools; ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of safety regulations related to collision repair shops; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Experience working with aluminum panels and advanced materials used in modern vehicle construction is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to proper ergonomic practices. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team leadership.
