Full Job Description Job Responsibilities:
Build stringers by placing patterned cut pieces received from the Mill department into the appropriate building fixture. Nail pieces together using a nail gun. Place stringers on mobile dolly. Before laminating, do a visual inspection of the hull laminate. Report to your leader any defects so they can be corrected before the stringers are installed. Place stringers into hull using the overhead crane system. Check placement with all checking devices available. Check resin spray equipment for proper operation - test the spray gun before laminating. Sand areas that are rough so there will be no obstruction when installing the stringers. Strips of fiberglass will be cut using large scissors and then laid over the stringers. They will then be sprayed with resin and catalyst. Use the proper amount and correct type of fiberglass. Spray the proper amount of resin according to the specifications. Receive specifications from your leader. Manually roll fiberglass smooth to conform over the stringers and onto the mold using a roller. These tools must be kept in covered acetone container when not being used. Maintain hand tools to prevent damage to the hull part, mold or the tool itself. Clean manually with acetone and a brush. Maintain spray equipment by manually cleaning with acetone and a brush at the end of the shift. Store in a clean acetone container with a lid.
