Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Bodyshop Operator with extensive experience in automotive repair and bodywork to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of vehicle repairs, including structural, cosmetic, and mechanical work, ensuring all vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise in welding, fabrication, auto restoration, and body refinishing will be vital to delivering exceptional service to our customers. Duties Perform automotive structural repairs using MIG welding, soldering, and welding repair techniques to restore vehicles to factory specifications. Conduct auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, sanding, and automotive cosmetic refinishing to achieve a flawless finish. Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to execute precise repairs and fabrication tasks. Install automotive parts such as auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with attention to detail. Apply auto painting techniques using airless paint spraying equipment and perform auto body refinishing to restore vehicle appearance. Engage in auto restoration projects by fabricating custom parts and repairing damaged structures using sheet metal fabrication methods. Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks including mechanical repairs, auto parts installation, and general automotive repair duties as needed. Use automotive estimating skills to assess damage severity and determine repair scope while adhering to safety standards. Handle heavy lifting safely during the repair process and ensure all work complies with industry quality standards. Requirements Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or collision center environment. Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, auto body repair, and sheet metal fabrication techniques. Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and automotive welding equipment operation. Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive parts installation. Familiarity with auto restoration processes including dent repair, sanding techniques, and automotive cosmetic repair. Experience with auto painting methods such as airless paint spraying and automotive body refinishing. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and other workshop equipment safely and effectively. Good understanding of auto estimating procedures and ability to assess damage accurately. Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments. Dealership experience or background working within an automotive service setting is highly desirable. $54,086.91 - $65,136.93 per year
