Position Overview We are seeking a skilled 12V Electrical Installer to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems in specialty vehicles including transit, shuttle, broadcast, and emergency response vehicles. The ideal candidate has experience working with automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems and takes pride in producing clean, reliable, production quality installations. Key Responsibilities
Install and route 12V wiring harnesses throughout commercial vehicles.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and installation drawings.
Install electrical components including: o LED lighting o Power distribution systems o Switch panels o Relays and fuse blocks o Inverters and battery systems o Shore power systems o Cameras and monitors o Audio/video equipment o USB charging systems
Properly terminate, crimp, solder, and heat shrink.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using multimeters and diagnostic equipment.
Perform continuity, voltage, and functional testing.
Maintain organized wiring with proper routing, protection, and support.
Work closely with engineering, production, and quality control to complete builds on schedule.
Ensure all installations meet company quality and safety standards.
Required Skills and Experience Minimum 2 years of experience with 12V automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics. Experience using hand and power tools for vehicle electrical installation. Experience with crimping, soldering, heat shrink, and connector assembly. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. High attention to detail and ability to produce clean, professional installations. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work inside commercial vehicles. Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate has experience in vehicle upfitting or specialty vehicle manufacturing.
Preferred experience includes:
Emergency vehicle, ambulance, police, fire, utility, or transit vehicle upfitting. Installation of inverters, battery systems, shore power, and charging systems. CAN bus and multiplex electrical systems. Audio/video systems, cameras, mobile networking, or communication equipment. Experience with Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, or commercial truck platforms. Fabricating mounting brackets and light metal components. Basic 120V AC electrical knowledge. Minimum Qualifications Must have no physical work limitations and be able to lift, bend, and work on their feet for extended periods Must be willing to assist with other fabrication and shop tasks as needed Must have reliable transportation Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct Work Schedule & Benefits Full-time position | 40 hours per week
Work Hours:
