new career and a path to stable housing can start here. Entryway Columbus, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to workforce development and housing access, offers a free career training program designed for motivated adults who are experiencing or at risk of housing instability and are ready to build something better. This program prepares graduates for full-time careers in apartment maintenance and groundskeeping, one of Central Ohio's most in-demand trades, while also creating a pathway to stable, affordable housing. All coursework is completed through our virtual learning platform, so you can train from anywhere with an internet connection.
This is a real commitment:
participants must meet required training hours and progress milestones to remain in the program. If you're ready to put in the work, this program is built to meet you where you are. This training is designed to prepare you for the real job: the roles this training leads to are full-time, hands-on, onsite positions of 40 hours per week including weekends, at apartment communities across the region. Graduates move directly into hiring pipelines with our property management partners and may qualify for discounted housing through Entryway. No prior experience required, just the commitment to complete the coursework and bring a strong work ethic to the job site. The positions this training prepares you for are full-time, 40 hours per week, and include weekend availability.
Requirements:
All applicants will complete a background check. Having a record does not automatically disqualify you; each situation is reviewed individually. Valid driver's license Ready to apply?
