Job Summary The Auto Glass Technician/Installer is responsible for repairing and replacing automotive glass, including windshields, side windows, rear glass, and related components. This position requires attention to detail, safe work practices, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect damaged automotive glass and determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate. Remove damaged windshields, side windows, and rear glass without causing additional vehicle damage. Install replacement automotive glass using approved adhesives, primers, and installation techniques. Replace moldings, clips, weather seals, and related hardware as needed. Repair rock chips and small windshield cracks when appropriate. Clean and prepare vehicle surfaces before and after installation. Ensure all installations meet company quality and safety standards. Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Provide professional customer service by explaining repair procedures and answering customer questions. Complete work orders and maintain accurate service documentation. Follow all OSHA and company safety policies. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous auto glass installation experience preferred; training may be available for motivated candidates. Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding work. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Preferred Skills Experience with windshield replacement and chip repair. Knowledge of automotive trim removal and installation. Familiarity with automotive glass adhesives and curing procedures. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting. Ability to safely handle large pieces of glass. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Ability to work on ladders or elevated platforms when necessary.
