The Tractor-Trailer Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on company tractors and trailers to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and DOT compliant. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers. Complete basic mechanical repairs and troubleshooting. Inspect brakes, tires, lights, suspension, air systems, and other components. Identify and repair defects found during driver inspections (DVIRs). Perform tire changes, light replacement, lubrication, fluid checks, and other routine services. Assist with diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe. Communicate equipment concerns and needed repairs to maintenance leadership. Ensure equipment meets company and DOT safety standards before returning to service. Qualifications Basic knowledge of diesel trucks, tractors, and trailers. Mechanical aptitude and ability to use standard shop tools. Ability to safely lift, bend, climb, and work around heavy equipment. Strong attention to safety and equipment condition. Previous tractor-trailer or automotive maintenance experience preferred. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
