  • 12:00 AM About the Opportunity PDS Defense, Inc.
is seeking an experienced Aerospace Vehicle Technician to support spacecraft final integration, Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) installations, testing, and launch operations. This role is responsible for assembling, integrating, testing, and supporting high-reliability aerospace hardware in a production and laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Perform spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing activities using released work instructions. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, sketches, and written/verbal instructions. Assemble complex structural and mechanical components to precise specifications and tolerances. Install and work with Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) and Solid-Layer Insulation (SLI) materials. Conduct system leak checks, pressure checks, alignment verification, and functional testing. Operate specialized integration and test equipment including hydraulic consoles, cooling systems, alignment fixtures, and installation fixtures. Utilize hand tools, power tools, cranes, lift equipment, ovens, heated tools, and computer-controlled equipment. Support launch preparations, hardware moves, range operations, and test execution activities. Record, analyze, and report test data, generating charts and reports as required. Assist engineers in developing and improving assembly and integration processes. Train and mentor technicians as needed. Perform rework and other related duties with minimal supervision. Requirements Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 4 years of experience performing mechanical assembly on high-reliability products, preferably within aerospace. Experience building and terminating wiring harnesses. Minimum 1 year of experience working with MLI or thermal blankets. Ability to interpret: Mechanical drawings Schematics Harness wiring diagrams Technical manuals Experience using inspection and measuring tools including: Calipers Micrometers Digital Multimeters (DMM) Depth gauges Experience with assembly tooling, composites fabrication, or composite assembly. Proficient with hand tools and power tools. Experience mixing and applying epoxy materials. Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Required Skills Wiring Harness Design Interpret schematics, assembly drawings, technical manuals Micrometers Assembly Calipers Hand Tools Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of aerospace integration experience.
