In this role, you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling vehicle transmissions to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Your expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional service to our customers by restoring complex mechanical systems with precision and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics passionate about transmission repair and automotive systems to excel in a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality craftsmanship. Duties Disassemble, inspect, and diagnose issues within various types of vehicle transmissions, including manual and automatic units. Rebuild transmissions using specialized hand tools, power tools, and schematics to ensure accurate repairs. Replace worn or damaged components such as gears, clutches, valves, seals, and bands with precision. Test rebuilt transmissions on vehicle test stands or in vehicles to verify proper operation and performance standards. Follow manufacturer specifications and technical manuals to ensure all repairs meet industry standards. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each transmission. Collaborate with other technicians on complex mechanical systems repair including drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems as needed. Experience Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a focus on transmission rebuilds and mechanical systems repair. Dealership experience or similar automotive service background is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostics tools. Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), diesel engine repair, heavy equipment mechanics, and auto body repair is a plus. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive maintenance machinery. Experience working with GM vehicles or other major automakers is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills combined with a thorough understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes, alignments, tire service, shocks & struts, brake repair, and powertrain diagnostics.
