Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative and as-needed maintenance of semi trailers. Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals. Maintain schedules and document completed preventative maintenance and repairs. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems. Test repaired equipment for proper performance; ensure work meets manufacturer's specifications according to FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations). Maintaining parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Job Requirements:
Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a trailer mechanic performing Preventive Maintenance Inspections and Repairs to dry storage trailers of multiple manufacturers in the Company Fleet. Must have air-brakes certification. Familiar with FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), and FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations), BIT (Basic Inspection of Terminals) inspections. High School Diploma or GED (Preferred). Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Candidate must provide his/her own tools. Potential of some commute and work in mobile shop locations (no road side) to satellite locations in company vehicle. Valid driver's license may be required with no suspensions and/or revocations in connection with a moving violation within the past three (3) years. No CDL required.
