Job Description

Position summary Performs routine servicing and maintenance support for vehicles and equipment while helping mechanics keep the fleet available for training missions. Essential duties Perform oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, battery service, tire service, and other routine preventive maintenance. Inspect vehicles and equipment for leaks, damage, wear, safety concerns, and service needs. Assist mechanics with parts handling, cleaning, equipment movement, mobile response, and preparation for repairs. Maintain service records and report all additional deficiencies to the assigned mechanic or lead. Maintain shop cleanliness, spill controls, waste-storage areas, service equipment, and safe working conditions. Inspect and manage assigned hazardous-waste or used-oil collection points when designated. Support vehicle preparation for shipment, storage, washing, and return to service. Minimum requirements At least one year of experience servicing vehicles, trucks, construction equipment, or similar mobile equipment. Knowledge of lubrication, fluids, filters, tires, batteries, and basic vehicle inspection procedures. Ability to safely use lifts, jacks, tire equipment, lubrication equipment, and common hand tools. Valid driver license and proper license before operating any Government vehicle or equipment. Ability to obtain base access and complete safety, fire extinguisher, OPSEC, environmental, and HAZMAT training. Ability to lift and handle automotive parts, tires, fluids, and service equipment safely. Assigned additional duties Alternate HAZMAT Manager or Hazardous Waste Monitor Shop environmental and cleanliness support
Pay:
$18.37 - $19.37 per hour Application Question(s): Do you have access to military base property? Valid driver license and proper license before operating any Government vehicle or equipment. At least one year of experience servicing vehicles, trucks, construction equipment, or similar mobile equipment.
