Skilled in identifying valuable components, safely removing mechanical and electrical systems, and preparing materials for resale or recycling. Knowledgeable in inventory management, environmental compliance, and efficient yard operations. Committed to maximizing value from end-of-life vehicles while maintaining safety and industry standards.. Duties & Responsibilities Dismantle end-of-life vehicles safely using hand tools and power equipment Inspect vehicles to identify reusable and high-value parts (engines, transmissions, electronics, body panels) Remove, label, and catalog parts for resale or inventory Drain and properly dispose of fluids (oil, coolant, fuel, transmission fluid) following environmental regulations Operate equipment such as forklifts, hoists, lifts, and cutting tools Sort and separate scrap materials (metal, plastic, glass) for recycling Maintain accurate inventory records using yard management systems or software Clean, test, and prepare salvaged parts for sale or shipment Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures at all times Assist customers in locating and purchasing used auto parts when required Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED (preferred but not always required) Prior experience in auto dismantling, mechanical work, or salvage yard operations Basic knowledge of automotive systems (engine, transmission, suspension, electrical) Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and dismantling equipment safely Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy parts and work in outdoor environments Good attention to detail for identifying reusable parts
Pay:
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
