Job Description

We're seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Reed City, Michigan . In this role, you'll help keep Wolverine's fleet operating safely and reliably by performing maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment that support our operations across Michigan. This position plays a critical role in helping our crews safely deliver reliable power to the communities we serve. A Day in the Life No two days are exactly the same. You'll work on a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment while helping ensure they remain safe, dependable, and ready for service.
Responsibilities include:
Performing repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment Conducting safety inspections and routine service Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Managing parts and maintenance inventory Installing and maintaining mobile communications equipment Maintaining hydraulic systems and aerial lift devices Supporting DOT inspections and fleet maintenance programs Working with vendors and suppliers when specialty repairs are needed What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
Required Qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Auto Mechanics, or equivalent experience Minimum of two years of experience in an automotive or heavy-duty truck repair facility Valid Michigan driver's license, including a CDL-A with air brake endorsement Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain and maintain) Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA and Cooperative safety standards Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly (up to 100 pounds occasionally) and perform physical work around vehicles and heavy equipment Flexibility to work overtime, respond to emergencies, and travel as needed Why Join Wolverine?
