Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Landscape Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of landscaping and grounds-maintenance equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair everything from small engines and electrical systems to large commercial equipment. The Landscape Mechanic will help ensure that all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. The ideal candidate is experienced with various types of mechanical systems, able to diagnose problems efficiently, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Essential Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on landscaping and grounds-maintenance equipment. Troubleshoot and repair small engines, including 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines. Service and repair lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, edgers, aerators, pressure washers, and other small equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including batteries, charging systems, starters, alternators, wiring, switches, solenoids, sensors, and electrical controls. Perform maintenance and repairs on large equipment, including tractors, skid steers, loaders, excavators, utility vehicles, trailers, and other heavy equipment. Qualifications Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably in landscaping, grounds maintenance, agriculture, construction, or a related field. Strong knowledge of small-engine repair and maintenance. Working knowledge of automotive and equipment electrical systems. Experience troubleshooting and repairing large or heavy equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems using appropriate tools and testing equipment. Basic understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, service information, and wiring diagrams. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities. Valid driver's license. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle tools, equipment, and parts. Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, fuel, cooling, and drivetrain systems. Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and company schedules. Inspect equipment for safety concerns, wear, and potential mechanical failures. Complete repairs and adjustments efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, parts, and service history. Identify parts and materials needed for repairs and communicate repair needs to management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Assist with equipment setup, seasonal preparation, and winterization. Respond to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs based on operational needs. Follow all applicable safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations. Work Environment This position involves working in a mechanical shop, equipment yard, and outdoor work environments. The mechanic will regularly work around operating landscaping equipment, heavy machinery, fuel, lubricants, and other mechanical components and must follow all required safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Pay:

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
