Job Description

Goodwin Motor Group, a family-owned Maine dealership group, is seeking an Automotive Technician to join our customer-first service team. In this role, you'll diagnose and repair a variety of makes and models, perform routine maintenance, and ensure all work meets manufacturer and safety standards. You'll use modern diagnostic tools, maintain accurate repair records, and communicate clearly with service advisors. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of vehicle makes and models Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, brakes, tires, and inspections Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify and resolve vehicle problems accurately Complete repair orders and documentation following dealership and manufacturer standards Communicate clearly with service advisors about repair needs, timing, and recommendations Ensure high-quality workmanship and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in the shop Follow all manufacturer guidelines and participate in ongoing technical training Deliver friendly, transparent service that supports customer satisfaction and retention Required Skills Automotive diagnostics Brake repair Engine and drivetrain repair Electrical system troubleshooting Use of OBD-II and scan tools Preventive maintenance service Service documentation and repair orders Reading technical manuals and schematics Customer and advisor communication Shop safety and OSHA compliance
