Job Description

About the Role As a Lead Fleet Technician, you will serve as the technical authority for our diverse mobile asset portfolio, ensuring maximum uptime and operational reliability. You will leverage your deep mechanical expertise to oversee complex repairs and implement strategic maintenance programs that drive fleet performance and safety. Responsibilities Execute advanced diagnostics and comprehensive repairs on diesel and gasoline powertrains, including engine overhauls and transmission rebuilds. Ensure peak performance of heavy-duty commercial vehicles (up to 80,000 lbs GVWR) by maintaining braking, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems. Optimize the longevity of support equipment, including compressors, generators, and specialized utility machinery. Design and manage rigorous preventative maintenance schedules to minimize unscheduled downtime. Maintain precise digital service histories and repair documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and asset tracking. Mentor junior technicians to elevate shop-wide technical proficiency and safety standards. Qualifications Required Skills 7+ years of hands-on experience in professional fleet maintenance environments. Advanced proficiency in heavy-duty diesel engine diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to service medium-to-heavy commercial trucks and complex towing systems. Strong commitment to shop safety protocols and industry best practices. Preferred Skills Prior experience in a supervisory or shop lead capacity. Technical certifications related to heavy-duty vehicle repair. Experience with fleet management software and diagnostic tools.
