Diesel Service Advisor / Service Writer Van Diesel Truck Repair - Cleves, OH Overview Van Diesel Truck Repair is seeking an experienced Diesel Service Advisor / Service Writer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, understands diesel trucks and commercial vehicle repairs, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As the first point of contact for our customers, you'll work closely with technicians to diagnose repair needs, prepare estimates, communicate repair progress, and help maximize shop productivity through excellent customer service and service recommendations. This position offers a competitive hourly wage plus commission on sales and upsells , giving motivated individuals an excellent earning opportunity. Responsibilities Greet customers and discuss their truck repair and maintenance needs. Create detailed repair orders and estimates. Coordinate with technicians throughout the repair process. Keep customers informed on repair status and completion times. Recommend additional maintenance and repair services when appropriate. Upsell preventative maintenance and repair services that improve vehicle reliability and safety. Schedule appointments and manage workflow. Invoice completed repairs and process payments. Build long-term relationships with commercial fleet and owner-operator customers. Help maintain a professional and organized front office. Qualifications Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Writer, or Shop Manager preferred. Mechanically inclined with knowledge of diesel trucks and commercial vehicle repairs. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to prepare estimates and explain repairs clearly. Sales experience with the ability to generate additional repair opportunities. Experience using shop management software is a plus. Valid driver's license.
