Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automotive Service Writer to join our service department. In this role, you will serve as the vital link between customers and our skilled technicians, ensuring a seamless flow of communication, accurate documentation, and exceptional customer service. Your expertise will help drive customer satisfaction, increase sales opportunities through upselling, and support efficient shop operations. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs Prepare detailed repair estimates using estimating software, ensuring accuracy and transparency for customers Communicate effectively with technicians to relay diagnostic findings and recommended repairs Upsell additional services and maintenance based on vehicle inspection results to maximize shop revenue Maintain clear and professional client communication throughout the repair process, providing updates and explanations as needed Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently at the service counter Document all service work thoroughly, including parts used, labor hours, and vehicle details, ensuring proper recordkeeping for future reference Assist in managing appointment scheduling to optimize workflow and customer satisfaction Skills Mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Familiarity with dealership operations and auto service management practices Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining a positive attitude Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, suspension work, shocks & struts replacement, transmission diagnostics, and collision repairs Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for test drives or vehicle inspections as needed

From $18.00 per hour
