Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as an Automotive Service Writer, where your enthusiasm for cars and exceptional customer service skills will drive success! In this vital role, you will serve as the bridge between our valued customers and our skilled technicians, ensuring a smooth and transparent vehicle repair experience. Your energetic approach and mechanical understanding will help you accurately assess vehicle issues, prepare detailed estimates, and communicate effectively with clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of automotive service, combining technical knowledge with sales acumen to deliver outstanding results. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, utilizing automotive diagnostics tools and estimating software to identify issues such as transmissions, brakes, suspension, oil changes, tire service, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and collision damage Prepare detailed repair estimates that clearly outline necessary repairs and associated costs using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating programs Communicate effectively with customers about their vehicle's condition, recommended services, and available options to upsell additional maintenance or repairs such as mechanical work or preventive services Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services including oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and other auto service tasks Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing customer payments and invoices Follow up with clients post-service to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships through excellent customer service and client communication Experience Proven experience in automotive service writing or auto estimating within a dealership or independent repair shop environment Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive diagnostics and repair procedures Experience using estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools Knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, diesel engines, suspension components, air brakes, shocks & struts, tire services, collision repair processes, and oil change procedures Demonstrated ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles when required Join us in delivering top-tier automotive care by combining your passion for vehicles with your talent for customer engagement. $12.50 - $18.00 per hour
