Job Overview Automotive Technician (A/C Focus) - Entry-Level or Experienced Autoclimas Car's LLC is hiring an Automotive Technician / Automotive A/C Technician for our family-owned automotive repair shop in Palmview, Texas. We are open to both experienced technicians and students or recent graduates who are serious about building a career in automotive repair. Professional automotive A/C experience is valuable, but it is not required for the entry-level track. Paid, hands-on training will be provided to candidates who demonstrate reliability, mechanical ability, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. About Autoclimas Car's LLC Established in 2015 and backed by more than 25 years of automotive A/C experience, Autoclimas Car's LLC specializes in automotive A/C diagnostics, climate-control repair and general mechanical services for cars, trucks, SUVs, fleet and heavy-duty vehicles. Position Options Entry-Level / Student Technician This track is intended for current automotive or diesel students, recent technical-program graduates and mechanically inclined candidates who want paid, hands-on training. Entry-level technicians will work under supervision while learning shop safety, inspection procedures, A/C system operation, diagnostic testing, service equipment and proper repair practices. Experienced Automotive A/C Technician This track is intended for technicians who can independently diagnose automotive A/C concerns, interpret pressure and temperature readings, perform leak detection, recover and recharge refrigerant, and replace failed A/C components. Responsibilities Assist with or independently perform automotive A/C system inspections and diagnostics Use manifold gauges, temperature-testing equipment, electronic scanners, refrigerant machines and leak-detection equipment Recover, evacuate and recharge automotive refrigerant according to proper procedures Assist with or perform replacement of compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, accumulators, filter dryers, hoses, lines and related components Diagnose heating, airflow and climate-control concerns within the shop's scope of services Assist with general mechanical inspections, maintenance and repairs Document findings and communicate repair needs clearly to management Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area Properly care for customer vehicles, shop tools and diagnostic equipment Follow safety, refrigerant-handling and shop procedures Work cooperatively with technicians and management Compensation $14-$20 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, diagnostic ability and ability to work independently Performance bonuses Opportunity to transition to commission-based compensation after sufficient training and demonstrated independent performance, at management's discretion Commission eligibility does not eliminate benefits eligibility for an otherwise eligible employee Schedule Our standard schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. We may consider flexible schedules for students and part-time candidates, including: Three or four workdays per week Partial-day schedules around classes Limited weekend availability Alternative approved schedules based on the applicant's class schedule and shop needs Availability will be discussed during the interview. Flexible scheduling is not guaranteed, but we will make a reasonable effort to accommodate qualified students.
