We're hiring a full-time Mechanic to support us in our mission by keeping our mechanical equipment and vehicles in excellent running condition and preventing major breakdowns. Description Performs any combination of the following duties at our shop and on field construction projects by transferring from one task to another, where the demands require a worker with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision. Will be assisting in Troubleshooting, Install, remove, rebuild, replace, repair, in-frame, test, adjust, PM service, welding repair, and fabrication of all classifications of vehicles and equipment. Be willing to work alone when needed. Salary Position - Starting pay is based on experience. Knowledge/Skill Requirement Good mechanical aptitude Knowledge of safe work practices Team Orientation Experience with engine maintenance; Lube, oil, filter replacement Duties and Responsibilities Receives written or oral instructions from Head Mechanic regarding equipment to be serviced. Troubleshoot, rebuilds, replaces and repairs, tires, brakes, drive train, power train, electrical systems, hydraulic, emissions system, etc. Weld and fabricate as needed Inspects, clean, maintain, and lubricates equipment Participate and complete training in operation of new equipment Pick up parts and equipment as needed Load/UnIoad deliveries as needed Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, hammering, rubbing, reaching, kneeling, and squatting. Requires regular lifting of up to 801bs. Walking or standing may occupy the entire day. Qualifications Clear Background 3 Years Experience with Light, Medium, and or Heavy Trucks/Equipment Maintenance and Repair (Gas and Diesel) Preferred but not required. Trade School in Diesel Tech, Auto Tech, or Apprentice Program Preferred but not required Clean MVR, must hold a valid driver license, CDL preferred but not required. Must be 18 or older Work Environment Willingness to travel to all projects (Lodging is provided at the company's expense for all per diem projects) Company vehicle is provided for all travel Tools provided Overtime work is required May be exposed to extremes of hot and cold weather Occasional Night Time duties What Silver Creek Construction, Inc.
