Job Description
Part-Time Automotive Race Technician Arrow Motorsports LLC | Freedom, WI Arrow Motorsports LLC is seeking an experienced, part-time Automotive Race Technician to join our race preparation and restoration shop. We're looking for an experienced automotive mechanic who also has solid fabrication skills. This is an hourly position in a true race shop — not a flat-rate production environment. Our work ranges from routine mechanical service and race preparation to fabrication, restoration, chassis and suspension work, and trackside support. We work on a wide variety of vintage and modern race and performance vehicles, so the right person needs to be comfortable troubleshooting, working independently, and understanding the mechanical systems they are working on — not simply replacing parts. What You'll Do
- Perform mechanical service, repair, race preparation, and restoration
- Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, steering, and driveline systems
- Perform vehicle alignments and suspension setup
- Fabricate and repair race car chassis components, suspension components, roll cages, exhaust systems, and headers
- Perform light-duty sheet metal fabrication
- Fit, fabricate, and weld round and square tubing
- Service and repair manual transmissions, rear differentials, and transaxles
- Prepare and service vehicles between race events
- Provide trackside support during select race weekends
- Assist with loading, unloading, and general shop operations What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on automotive mechanical experience
- Proficient in MIG welding of both light and heavy gauge materials; TIG welding of aluminum and stainless steel is a plus
- Experience with light-duty sheet metal and round and square tubing fabrication, fitting, and welding
- Strong understanding of automotive suspension and alignment, including the ability to properly align a vehicle and understand the adjustments being made
- Experience with brakes, steering, driveline, and related mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and work through mechanical problems
- Race or performance vehicle experience is a plus, but not required
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team Automotive technical training preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must provide own basic toolbox, tools, and hand tools Physical Requirements Must be able to work in and around vehicles, including climbing under cars and into tight spaces Able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and work in confined areas for extended periods Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly Schedule This is a permanent, part-time position with hours that vary seasonally based on workload.
