Job Description

•Overview• Are you an experienced, detail-oriented automotive technician looking to take your career to the next level? Symdon Chevrolet of Mt Horeb is seeking a Certified General Motors (GM) Automotive Technician to join our high-volume, state-of-the-art service department. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and service a wide variety of GM vehicles (Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac). Key Responsibilities Diagnose and Repair:
Accurately diagnose and perform mechanical and electrical repairs on GM vehicles, including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
Advanced Diagnostics:
Utilize GM diagnostic tools and software (GDS2, Tech2, Service Information) to troubleshoot complex drivability and electrical issues.
Routine Maintenance:
Perform factory-scheduled maintenance services, multi-point inspections, oil changes, and fluid exchanges.
Quality Control:
Road-test vehicles to ensure quality repairs and complete comprehensive repair orders accurately and on time.
Continuous Learning:
Complete ongoing factory-certified training to stay current on new GM technologies, including EV (Electric Vehicle) platforms.
Shop Safety:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while adhering to all company, OSHA, and manufacturer safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
GM Experience:
Proven hands-on experience working on GM vehicles is required .
Certifications:
GM Factory Certifications strongly preferred. ASE Certifications (Master ASE preferred).
Tools:
Must have your own set of professional-grade tools.
Driver's License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
