Job Description

Job Summary Packerland Portables and Maverick Pumping is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our medium to large commercial fleet vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of our fleet. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, and other mechanical components using OEM schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on our vehicle fleet to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, cutting, and hand tools to meet specific operational requirements. Troubleshoot complex equipment issues such as suspension problems, alignment discrepancies, HVAC systems, and hydraulics to identify root causes efficiently. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of our fleet. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately. Requirements Proven experience as a Mechanic with a strong background in service environments preferred. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, brake repair, transmission servicing, electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to use power tools effectively. Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot complex electrical or mechanical issues efficiently. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of heavy lifting safely when required. Valid certifications related to commercial fleet maintenance or automotive repair are a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
