The Repair Engineer creates and approves repair concepts for Structural Repair Manual (SRM) applications, works directly with engine manufacturers and airframers to resolve technical issues, and provides engineering guidance to junior staff. This is an individual contributor role for an experienced aerospace structures engineer who can work independently and manage multiple repair assignments at once. Schedule Full-time, onsite in Chula Vista, CA. Standard weekday business hours. Compensation $125,000 to $150,000 per year, based on experience. What You'll Do The Repair Engineer develops engineering solutions and repair instructions for a range of aerospace nacelle components and programs, designing and supporting repair development for both metallic and composite aircraft structures. This includes developing and approving repair concepts and allowable damage limits for Structural Repair Manual (SRM) applications, and preparing engineering repair packages for SRM and CMM repair development and submission to the Type Certificate Holder. This role works closely with production engineering to evaluate how design changes affect structural maintainability and repairability, and supports the expansion of repairs across SRM, CMM, and AMM documentation. The Repair Engineer also serves as a technical point of contact for engine manufacturers, airframers, and other customers, communicating technical recommendations and presenting engineering solutions to both customers and internal management. The Repair Engineer manages multiple repair assignments under overlapping deadlines, provides technical guidance to junior engineers, and supports engineering standardization and process improvements aimed at reducing repair processing times. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline Approximately 5 years of aerospace engineering experience Experience with aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and commercial aviation regulatory requirements Experience developing repairs for metallic and/or composite aircraft structures Experience with repair development involving nacelle and exhaust structures Working knowledge of aerospace maintenance manuals, including SRM, ASR, CMM, and AMM Strong technical writing and documentation skills Experience in a customer-facing or customer-support engineering role Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa sponsorship, now or in the future Preferred Qualifications
