Job Description

Job Summary

Aircraft Structures Technician (Prototype Build)

Location:

Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (on-site)

Type:

W2 contract, long-term, with potential for conversion

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-funded defense aerospace company building a next-generation autonomous military aircraft in North Texas. The program is in the prototype phase, and they're putting together a small, highly skilled build team to take the first airframes from structure through to final assembly.

This is a rare chance to work on a clean-sheet military aircraft from the ground up. You'll be one of a small group of experienced technicians whose hands are on the first builds, and your input on how things go together will matter. If you've spent years building to someone else's established process and want to help write the process on a new platform, this is worth a conversation.

Requirements

What You'll Be Doing

Structural assembly of primary and secondary airframe components from engineering drawings and work instructions

Drilling, countersinking, reaming and installing fasteners (Hi-Loks, Lockbolts, rivets, blind fasteners) to tight tolerances

Fit-up, shimming and alignment of structural assemblies in jigs and fixtures

Working with metallic and composite structures

Sealing, bonding and surface prep per spec

Identifying build issues early and working with engineering and quality to solve them on the floor

Keeping accurate build records and working cleanly in a quality-driven environment

What We're Looking For

10+ years of hands-on aircraft structures experience, with 20+ years highly regarded

A background in production, manufacturing or modification, such as new-build, P2F conversions or major structural mods. Candidates with only MRO or line maintenance experience won't be a fit for this team.

Currently or recently working on aircraft structures

Experience on programs such as Boeing (Wichita, San Antonio, Everett), Spirit AeroSystems, Bombardier, Lockheed, Bell, Northrop, Triumph or similar

Comfortable reading complex engineering drawings, GD&T and work instructions with minimal supervision

High personal standards for quality and accuracy. Prototype work leaves little room for rework.

Must be a U.S. Person (citizen or permanent resident) due to export control requirements

Nice to Have

Prototype, first-article or low-rate initial production experience

Composite structures experience

A&P license

Military aircraft experience

Schedule

This is a fast-paced prototype program with a demanding schedule. Expect extended hours with regular overtime, including Saturdays most weeks. Shift assignments are set by production needs and may change, so we need people who are flexible on scheduling and ready to adapt as the build develops. Please only apply if that works for you.
