Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on e-bikes using symptom-based mechanical diagnosis to identify issues quickly and accurately Conduct repairs on mechanical systems including brakes, suspension components, drive units, and electrical wiring Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized maintenance equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble e-bike components Execute maintenance work such as tire replacements, brake adjustments, suspension tuning, and drivetrain servicing to ensure optimal performance Assist customers with retail sales by explaining repair needs, recommending accessories or upgrades, and processing transactions via POS systems Maintain detailed service records and update repair logs to track progress and ensure quality standards are met Lift heavy components safely during repairs and handle assembly or disassembly of bicycles with precision Requirements Job Overview FixEbike is a growing e-bike repair company in San Diego looking for a reliable, hands-on technician to join our team. Previous e-bike or bicycle repair experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, able to learn quickly, and genuinely interested in understanding how things work. Experience repairing bicycles, motorcycles, cars, appliances, electronics, or other mechanical equipment may be a strong fit for this position. We especially value people who take initiative, pay attention to detail, and look for the next task instead of waiting to be told what to do. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems on e-bikes Repair and replace brakes, tires, wheels, drivetrains, controllers, displays, throttles, wiring, and other components Assemble and disassemble e-bikes and related equipment Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized repair tools Perform safety inspections and verify completed repairs Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe Update repair records and communicate job progress to the team Explain repair findings and recommendations to customers when needed Assist with receiving parts, organizing inventory, and other workshop tasks Safely lift and move e-bikes and heavy components Requirements Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools Ability and willingness to learn electrical diagnostics and e-bike systems Reliable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail Able to work independently and as part of a small team Able to safely lift and move e-bikes weighing up to 80 pounds Basic English communication skills Previous technical, mechanical, electrical, automotive, bicycle, motorcycle, appliance repair, or workshop experience is preferred but not required Compensation and Growth Starting pay: $20 per hour during the training period Pay increases to $25 per hour after successful completion of training Additional pay increases are possible based on demonstrated skills, performance, responsibility, and contribution to the company FixEbike is a dynamic and expanding company.
