Job Description :
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting facility systems, and ensuring all equipment operates efficiently. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supporting production by minimizing downtime. Essential Functions
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for facility equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor electrical, plumbing, and facility repairs.
  • Inspect and maintain building systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and local building codes.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies for maintenance operations.
  • Monitor and log completed maintenance tasks; prioritize urgent repair needs.
  • Assist with equipment installations and facility upgrades.
  • Support safety programs and compliance initiatives across departments.
  • Prepare for and comply with third-party inspections and verification procedures.
  • Ensure food safety (HACCP) requirements are followed during maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems.
  • Diagnose equipment using electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, PLC/HMI diagnostics, and test equipment.
  • Perform PMs on production and facility equipment and recommend PM improvements.
  • Repair/replace motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, valves, conveyors, and sensors.
  • Troubleshoot VFDs, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, and control circuits.
  • Perform LOTO and machine-safety procedures. Use multimeters, clamp meters, pressure gauges, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Document repairs, parts, failure causes, and downtime in the CMMS.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring failures.
  • Support machine changeovers, startups, shutdowns, and production adjustments.
  • Coordinate with vendors/contractors for specialized repairs.
  • industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience
  • ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • PLC/HMI, VFD, pneumatic, hydraulic, and CMMS experience preferred a plus
  • EPA 608 a plus Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of general maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with safety, regulatory, and food safety compliance requirements.
Supervisory Responsibility May have supervisory responsibilities Work Environment This position is located in a food manufacturing facility and involves working in areas that may be cold, hot, humid, or noisy. The environment includes exposure to strong food odors, allergens, and moving equipment. Employees must follow strict sanitation and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work may take place on wet or slippery surfaces. Schedules may include overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
