Full Job Description Job Description Maintenance Technician Title/Position Maintenance Technician Omega Partners Joliet LLC Direct Supervisor Maintenance Manager Omega Partners Joliet LLC Job Overview:
The purpose of this position is to provide day to day maintenance support for the Omega Partners Joliet terminal. This position will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facility equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Support plant operations through the repair and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment such as pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment. Maintain the plant preventative maintenance system and complete required preventative maintenance tasks. Maintain equipment files on plant assets. Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental programs. Overall skills and requirements Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude and strong analytical troubleshooting skills. Must have a full understanding of pump operations. Ability to operate hand, power, and precision maintenance tools. Able to set up and operate maintenance shop equipment. Ability to operate light industrial equipment including: forklifts, man lift, and backhoe. Ability to read and interpret original equipment manufacturer manuals, blueprints, layouts, and other drawings. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have valid driver's license and adequate transportation. Basic knowledge of industry safety and environmental regulations and requirements. Must have a strong level of initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to establish priorities for own workload based upon such factors as need for immediate action, work schedule, knowledge of future needs, etc. Must be willing to take ownership in the plant and accept accountability. Ability to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors and receive quotes.
Schedule:
Available to work normal schedule of 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Must be willing and able to work weekends, nights, and holidays as requested for occasional emergency or planned maintenance outages.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders, work at elevations up to 100 feet, and work within Confined Spaces. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and walk.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to: outside weather in all conditions chemicals used in the process work near moving mechanical parts dusty conditions high noise environments
Computer Skills:
Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software (Word, Excel, etc.), and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to track maintenance history. Education and Experience High School Graduate or Associated Degree or equivalent Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is an asset. 2 years of maintenance related experience preferred.
