Rend Lake College is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of campus facilities and equipment. This hands-on position performs a variety of maintenance duties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and mechanical system support, preventive maintenance, and equipment repairs. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming campus environment while supporting college operations and special events. Essential Functions Perform plumbing work, which includes troubleshooting, installation, repairs, preventative maintenance, and monitoring and maintain campus lift stations. Perform general carpentry duties which includes, painting, carpet laying, roofing, and pouring concrete as assigned. Perform general electrical work, which includes troubleshooting, installation and maintaining systems as assigned. Operate and repair campus equipment, including boilers, water chillers, refrigeration, water filters, softeners, pumps, air compressors. Perform preventive maintenance, service and repairs to vehicles and equipment. Perform welding and torch cutting as assigned. Require ability to use a fork truck and to manually lift at least 50lbs. // Full-time (50-week) nontenure-track position
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree preferred Valid driver's license Basic knowledge of lock and commercial door hardware maintenance and repairs preferred. Minimum of 5 years of related experience preferred Electrical and Mechanical experience is preferred Must work well with others Must successfully complete a background check Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary $43,000 - $45,000 based on experience Full benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan and benefits, and paid time off Free tuition for employee, spouse, and dependents.
