Position Summary The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving heavy industrial manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role supports production by minimizing downtime, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards in a high-risk, heavy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Troubleshooting Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy industrial equipment. Perform maintenance on conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, motors, boilers, furnaces, presses, mills, or similar heavy manufacturing assets. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and interface with automation or controls personnel as needed. Perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as required (MIG, TIG, stick, torch cutting). Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs to reduce unplanned downtime. Inspect equipment for wear, vibration, alignment, lubrication, and safety risks. Accurately document work completed using CMMS or maintenance logs. Safety & Compliance Follow all plant safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and machine guarding requirements. Identify and correct unsafe conditions; participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs). Maintain compliance with OSHA and company EHS standards. Production Support Respond promptly to equipment failures during production. Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance leadership to prioritize repairs. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial plant . Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in: Industrial electrical systems (480V, motors, drives) Hydraulics and pneumatics Bearings, alignment, and power transmission systems Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams. Experience working in physically demanding environments (heat, noise, dust, heights). Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field. PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar). Welding certification or advanced fabrication skills. CMMS experience (Maximo, SAP, Fiix, etc.). Experience in steel, chemical, mining, cement, paper, or heavy equipment manufacturing. CIV123
