Job Description

Clean Harbors is looking for a dedicated Container Maintenance Mechanic to join our team, helping to maintain the integrity and safety of our containers used in hazardous waste disposal and other environmental services. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations support our commitment to protecting the environment through secure and reliable waste containment solutions. Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair containers used for hazardous waste disposal, including steel drums, vacuum boxes, roll-offs, and other containment units. Conduct regular safety checks and preventive maintenance according to company standards and regulations. Identify and diagnose issues with containers, implementing effective solutions to ensure maximum reliability and safety. Document and maintain records of inspections, maintenance work, and repairs. Collaborate with environmental specialists to understand specific requirements for waste containment and disposal. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines. Prepare and maintain necessary supplies and equipment for all tasks. Required Skills Strong mechanical skills and understanding of container repair tools and methods. Ability to interpret and implement blueprints and technical diagrams. Knowledge of standard safety practices and hazard recognition in an industrial environment. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
