Collegiate School is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain our 200,000-square-foot K-12 campus on Manhattan's Upper West Side. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with building systems and taking pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment. As a member of our Facilities team, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to support the daily operation of our campus while gaining experience with modern building automation systems and a wide range of mechanical equipment. GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the daily operation and maintenance of Collegiate School's 200,000-square-foot K-12 campus. This position performs preventive maintenance, addresses routine repair needs and helps ensure that the School's facilities remain safe, comfortable and operational for students, faculty, staff and visitors. Working as a member of the Facilities team, this position supports HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life-safety and building automation systems, including the School's Alerton Building Automation System (BAS).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment
Troubleshoot and address HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and general maintenance issues
Monitor and respond to alarms, trends and notifications through the Alerton Building Automation System (BAS)
Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms, rooftops, equipment spaces and campus facilities
Replace filters, belts, motors, pumps, valves, lighting and other building components as required
Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
Assist with event setups, furniture moves and other campus support activities
Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as directed
Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records and work-order documentation
Support compliance with applicable fire, building and life-safety requirements
Participate in emergency-response activities and on-call coverage as required
Follow all School safety policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements This position may require flexibility based on School operations and facility needs.
Duties and responsibilities may evolve at the discretion of the School.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m
7:00 p.
m.; occasional evening, weekend, holiday and emergency-response coverage may be required Must be able to complete a background check. FDNY Certificates of Fitness The successful candidate must obtain and maintain all certifications required for the operation of the School's facilities. Training and support will be provided as needed. Unless already held, the following FDNY Certificates of Fitness must be obtained within the first three months of employment:

Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 75 pounds

Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, hand tools and power tools
