This is a long-term, part-time position for someone who enjoys a variety of indoor and outdoor work and takes pride in keeping a property well maintained. The ideal candidate is a versatile, hands-on person who can independently handle routine lawn care, landscaping, property maintenance, and basic household repairs. For projects requiring specialized or licensed trades, this person would help identify the problem and coordinate with the appropriate contractor. The goal is to have one reliable person who becomes familiar with the property, recognizes maintenance needs, and helps keep both the home and grounds in excellent condition. Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary depending on the season and needs of the property and may include: Mowing and general lawn care Trimming, edging, weed control, and other routine landscape maintenance Maintaining flower beds, gardens, shrubs, and landscaped areas Basic sprinkler and irrigation system maintenance and troubleshooting Seasonal property cleanup Pressure washing and exterior cleaning Maintaining outdoor furniture, fixtures, fencing, and other property features Basic indoor handyman projects and minor repairs Hanging pictures, assembling furniture, replacing hardware, touching up paint, and similar household projects Identifying maintenance or repair issues before they become larger problems Helping maintain tools, lawn equipment, and property-maintenance supplies Coordinating and meeting with plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, landscapers, and other contractors when a project is outside your experience or requires a licensed professional Overseeing contractor access and helping ensure projects are completed properly Other general property-maintenance projects as needed Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Has experience with property maintenance, landscaping, construction, farming/ranch work, facilities maintenance, or general handyman work Is comfortable operating lawn and landscaping equipment Has good mechanical aptitude and basic repair skills Can work independently without constant supervision Notices things that need attention and takes initiative Is dependable, trustworthy, and organized Communicates well and is comfortable coordinating with homeowners and contractors Understands their own limitations and knows when a project should be handled by a licensed or specialized contractor Is physically capable of performing routine outdoor property-maintenance work Experience in several different trades is valuable, but we are not looking for someone who has to be an expert in everything. Reliability, good judgment, initiative, and a willingness to learn are particularly important. Schedule This is a part-time, year-round position, ideally working approximately 2-3 eight-hour days per week (16-24 hours). The schedule can be flexible, making this potentially a good fit for an experienced tradesperson, semi-retired contractor, maintenance professional, or someone with another job who is looking for consistent part-time work. There may occasionally be additional hours available for larger projects or seasonal work. What We're Looking For This is intended to be a long-term position, not temporary or day labor. We are looking for someone who can become familiar with the home and property and take ownership of its routine maintenance. The right person should eventually be able to walk the property, recognize what needs attention, prioritize projects, and handle many routine maintenance needs without having to be given a detailed task list every day. References and background check will be required. Please apply with a brief description of your work experience and the types of maintenance, landscaping, construction, or handyman projects you are comfortable performing.
