Surveillance System and Low-Voltage Technician

Job Description

Surveillance System and Low-Voltage Technician We are an established security and surveillance company seeking a dependable, experienced Surveillance System and Low-Voltage Technician. You will install, service, and maintain video surveillance systems and low-voltage wiring for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, comfortable working directly with customers, and capable of troubleshooting equipment, wiring, and network-related issues in the field. Key Responsibilities Install and configure security cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and related equipment Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and other system wiring Route cable through walls, ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, and conduit while following applicable codes and safety standards Install and organize patch panels, network racks, wall plates, connectors, and related components Test completed installations to ensure all equipment and cabling operate correctly Diagnose and repair hardware, software, connectivity, network, and wiring issues Perform routine maintenance, system upgrades, and cable replacements Explain system features and provide customers with basic operating instructions Coordinate with team members to integrate new equipment with existing systems Maintain accurate records of installations and service work Keep up with new surveillance products, low-voltage technologies, and industry practices Qualifications Previous experience installing and servicing video surveillance systems and low-voltage wiring Knowledge of security cameras, DVRs, NVRs, cabling, and related equipment Experience pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, and other low-voltage cables Understanding of IP networking, including routers, switches, PoE, and network configuration Ability to use hand tools, power tools, cable testers, ladders, and related installation equipment safely Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Professional communication and customer-service abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Availability to work a flexible schedule and participate in on-call coverage If you have hands-on experience with surveillance systems and low-voltage wiring and take pride in providing reliable, professional service, we encourage you to apply.
