Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems across various commercial and industrial sites. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service while ensuring the integrity and performance of communication and security systems. Your technical proficiency and customer service skills will drive success in this fast-paced environment, contributing to the seamless operation of vital infrastructure. Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic networks, structured cabling, Ethernet, VoIP telephony, and telecommunication systems. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure high-quality data transmission. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs. Conduct network wiring, cable termination (Cat5, Cat6), and structured cabling installation for data centers and communication rooms. Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, telecommunications testing equipment, and RF testers to identify issues and verify system performance. Troubleshoot equipment problems related to low-voltage electrical wiring, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and other networking hardware. Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems (AC/DC), power supplies, and telecommunications equipment to ensure optimal operation. Assist with network installation projects involving computer hardware setup, LAN configuration, and equipment repair. Ensure all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols while maintaining high-quality service delivery. Experience Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician working with telecommunications systems or data center environments. Hands-on experience with CCTV installation, fiber splicing, network cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and structured wiring projects. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including Ethernet setup, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and LAN configurations. Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, telecommunications testers, RF testers, and other troubleshooting equipment. Knowledge of electrical systems including AC/DC wiring practices aligned with NEC standards. Demonstrated ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for system installation or repair tasks. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members. Service technician experience in IT or telecommunication environments is highly desirable.
