We are expanding our nationwide network of licensed field professionals and are seeking experienced Maryland ES Licensed Low Voltage Contractors to support commercial installation projects on an as-needed basis. Position Overview This is a project-based independent contractor opportunity supporting commercial low voltage installations throughout Maryland. Projects may include retail stores, medical offices, corporate offices, warehouses, and other commercial facilities. Work is assigned based on project availability and geographic location. Responsibilities Install and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling Install and terminate patch panels and keystone jacks Install, label, and test structured cabling systems Install and mount wireless access points Install network switches, racks, cabinets, and cable management Perform cable routing through ceilings, walls, conduit, and raceways Read and interpret floor plans and installation drawings Perform cable testing and provide documentation when required Maintain a clean and professional work area Communicate project progress with the VAI Technology Project Manager Represent VAI Technology professionally while on customer sites Required Qualifications Current Maryland ES (Electronic Systems) License Minimum 3 years of commercial structured cabling experience Experience working in occupied commercial environments Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Reliable transportation Smartphone with email access Strong communication skills Ability to lift 50 pounds Comfortable working on ladders and above ceiling tiles Preferred Experience Experience installing: Wireless Access Points Network switches Server racks Patch panels Fiber optic cabling Retail technology deployments Medical office infrastructure Multi-site commercial rollouts Required Tools Contractors should possess their own professional-grade tools, including: Punch-down tools RJ45 crimpers Cable tester Fish tape and/or fiberglass rods Toner and probe Label maker Cordless drill and bits Basic hand tools Ladder (preferred for certain projects) Required Documentation Qualified applicants should be prepared to provide: Current Maryland ES License Resume outlining commercial low voltage experience W-9 Valid driver's license Proof of General Liability Insurance (preferred) Photos of previous installations (preferred) Professional references Compensation Competitive hourly or fixed project rates Prompt payment Opportunities for recurring work Flexible scheduling based on project availability Long-term partnership opportunities for qualified contractors Why Join VAI Technology?
